The World Blog Awards will be held Sunday, 31st August, 2008 in Perth, Western Australia at a venue yet to be decided.
The awards are a chance to promote your own blog or acknowledge someone else’s. And an excuse for a party. You’ll need to register to attend.
Who Can Nominate?
Any blog local or international can be nominated. Self-nominations are OK. There are no categories; you nominate a blog for exactly the award you think they should get. See this post for examples.
Nominees are entitled to use the World Blog Awards Nominee Badge on their site - the Badge will specify the particular award. You can nominate a blog for more than one award but the chances are you’ll only receive one. Award recipients need to attend on the night (or send a proxy) to claim a certificate/trophy.
How is it Judged?
Decisions are by elite judging panel. So elite, they have not yet been chosen. Winners will receive a trophy or a certificate. If you don’t think you’re going to win a trophy you can bring your own.
Nominations will not necessarily result in awards. But probably will. You may also receive an award different to what you expect. If you’ve received an award for something earlier in your life, you know, like a sports award or something, we may take it off you.
You may of course nominate for an award another blog has nominated for (use the tag cloud on the left to check on a keyword). Multiple awards may be given in the one category.
On the Nominee page you have an opportunity to vote for/against a site by using the Comment/Vote link. The judges may be influenced by the number of votes but their decision will be exercised with absolute and unfettered judgement and no correspondence will be entered into.
Someone beat me to it!
If someone has already nominated a blog you planned to nominate, use the Comments to endorse the nomination or propose an alternative nomination for that blog.
This is no way to run a Ballroom. Who’s in charge here?

Format of the Event
There will be stand-up comedy instead of entertainment. Then awards, then music and um, fellowship.
